Ten years ago as I edited our very first video, I knew that I wanted the name Fiesta Studios to appear at the end of the video accompanied by our catch phrase ‘Olé!’ The only problem is I didn’t have a logo for Fiesta Studios. In under five minutes in Microsoft Paint on Windows XP, I put together the now iconic Fiesta Studios logo, which I have used for all of the videos until today. I didn’t put much thought to it, I just wanted to put our name out there.
Well, I never thought I would get to this point with Fiesta Studios. For nostalgia’s sake, I knew I wanted to make a point by bringing back the original logo in all its glory. The problem? I had lost the original image a long time ago and I couldn’t even figure out what font I had used back in the day – I don’t even think it’s available anymore. The solution? Take a screenshot of one of the old videos and just use that. That’ll work for now, I thought.
And now here we are in 2016 and we are taking Fiesta Studios to far greater lengths than we ever thought possible and there the logo sits, a relic of its time. I knew, no matter how familiar the logo was, it was finally time to bring it into the new millennium.
Enter Joey Leal.
Joey actually approached me early this year and explained that he had an interest in updating the logo. At the time I did not know the depth of his experience. I was skeptical of putting a new face on the product, because I care deeply about the way we present ourselves and I was afraid the familiarity of the old logo would be lost as we introduce something new.
I hesitantly let Joey move ahead with his design. My major requirements were that it had to be colorful and festive, yet professional. He ran with it and today I am happy to say that he finally showed the finished product to me and I couldn’t be happier! It’s the perfect blend of professional, hip, and it really seems to capture our style quite well. Thank you Joey!
Without further ado, I present the brand new Fiesta Studios logo!
I’m eager to see this new design start showing up everywhere. Let me know what you think!
