Adam Kohr, a good friend of mine from Chicago, embarked on a journey for the sake of his brother Andy, and for the awareness of the disease Andy bears, a Mitochondrial Myopathy.
Adam is very nearly through Indiana on his 645 mile journey from Chicago to his childhood home in Harrisburg, PA where his brother is waiting for him. Adam is walking the entire way, roughly 25 miles a day, in order to fulfill a promise he made to the countless supporters who donated to the cause in his brother’s name.
I had the chance to see Adam today, for the first time in four and a half years. I walked five miles with him for the sake of trying to keep him company, and on the way back my legs and feet started to tire. Ten miles did that to me today; he has 50 times that left to go.
Please help spread awareness of Adam’s journey for the cause, as Mitochondrial Myopathy has not received the national attention it deserves.
I had a few minutes with Adam today. Please listen to Adam’s words and do what you can to help him reach his destination in Harrisburg, PA.
We are all so proud of you Adam! Whether you believe it or not, you are testing the limits of your mind, body and soul for the sake of another person – and that is the very definition of heroism!
